Level: Beginner & Intermediate
Schedule: Weekly, 3-hour sessions for 5 weeks
Cost: £25 per session / £125 for all 5 sessions

Purpose: This course is for anyone who has always wanted to explore watercolour painting. It’s an opportunity to unleash your inner Picasso, have fun, and meet new people!
Session Structure: Each session will start with an explanation of a specific watercolour technique and tools used to achieve it, followed by a short demonstration and then lots of exploration and play by attendees. Play is where the magic happens!
Session 1: Tools, Terminology & Exploration
Focus: Discover the essential tools and terminology of watercolour painting and exploration .
Objective:
- Understand key tools and their uses.
- Experiment with tools to create unique effects and compositions.
Session 2: Flowing Colours
Focus: Mastering wet-on-wet, flat, graded, and charged washes.
Objective:
- Learn the differences between flat and graded washes.
- Practise wet-on-wet and charging techniques for dynamic colour blending.
Session 3: Layers & Lines
Focus: Wet-on-dry and glazing techniques.
Objective:
- Control edges and detail with wet-on-dry.
- Use glazing to build colour depth and dimension.
Session 4: Textures & Effects
Focus: Dry brush and scrubbing techniques.
Objective:
- Add texture and detail with dry brushing.
- Create unique effects by lifting paint with scrubbing techniques.
Session 5: Final Project Workshop
Focus: Create your personal masterpiece!
Objective:
- Apply all learned techniques to design a finished artwork, incorporating masking, layering, texturing, and blending.
